Dance and Master classes

If I didn't already have enough on my plate I enrolled Tilynne into dance class. I guess before that I should go back to the beginning. This s

ummer I began my journey to fulfill my dream to become a mental health counselor. I have wanted to do this for quite some time, but due to circumstances didn't think it would be possible. I should have never counted God's goodness out because he blessed me to get into a program that allows me to work from home and obtain my master degree. I was so excited to begin but now that I have a quarter in and have begun the true work this is going to be harder than what I realized. I am trying to be super single mommy, full time job, and full time school.

Enough about me the true achievements are Tilynne. She is a busy two year old who learns something new everyday. She is reciting her abc's, on her way to count to 20, potty training, rough housing will her doggy GG, and using words way to big for her age. In the mix of all her accomplishments she began taking dance class every week for 30 minutes. She is doing better than I thought especially for her age. She had a bit of a melt down last week and wanted her mommy, but usually she is the first one in and the last one out tap tap tapping away with her tap shoes. Of course her aunties have had to get her all dressed up with many little leotards.

Back to daycare...

Well my little girl is growing up. I was a little scared about how she would react about going back to daycare today. As she got dressed today we talked about all her friends she would be seeing today to help prepare her. She was all excited to go and carried her back pack to the car. When we pulled up at Mrs. Lori's she wanted to be carried inside and I thought oh npo here comes the tears. Once inside she spotted her friends and off she went to play no bye bye mommy or kiss. The true test will be if she minded her manners today and acted like she had some act right.

Valentine's Day

Tilynne had a party at daycare today. She took some Valentine's and brought some home that she received today. I love my daycare because the children receive all the benefits of a center but in a home and with alot more attention. Anyway they got to make cookies this afternoon and I know Tilynne was in heaven because she loves sweets. Tomorrow we are going to have a Mommy and Me day and go out to breakfast with Nana and the aunts and then go shopping for her Valentine's Day present. It should be a fun filled day. I will have to take pictures of her in her Valentine outfit.

Dr. Suess......

I recently took Tilynne to a musical/play of Dr. Suess' Green Eggs and Ham. As they began they asked who has read the story. At first I raised my hand because I am familiar with the book, but then realized that I have never sat down and actually read the book. I know what person hasn't read Green Eggs and Ham, well I guess I am one of the few people. The play was great and Tilynne enjoyed it. As she normally does with anything that has music she tried to sing along, even though she had no clue what the song was.

FUN IN THE SNOW!

This past Sunday we woke up to about 2 inches of snow. After church it wasn't too cold so we ventured out for Tilynne's fun day in the snow......

Counting..........

I'm baaaackkkk! So I finally got my laptop hooked up which will make it much easier to do more consistent blogging. The desktop computer is so slow I hated to use it. Tilynne is getting bigger and brighter everyday. She is now counting from 1-10. I don't want to be one of those parents who tell false truths about their child's intelligence, but she really does count and like any other toddler she skips numbers normally four and six. I believe it started from me counting to three when I wanted her to stop doing something, and like the little smart mouth she is she would say the numbers with me. So of course I had to try a different discipline method but it began her on the track to start counting. Next we starting counting stairs when we would walk up or down and after a while she got on and has been counting every since.

Since we didn't get enough of Disney when we went for Christmas we went to Disney on Ice in Moline. Also it was a bonus that Tilynne's favorite Ariel was going to be there. She had lots of fun especially during the Little Mermaid. The little girl next to us said to her daddy during intermission " Daddy to you hear that little girl she sung every song during the Little Mermaid and she looks like she not even 2 years old". I just had to chuckle because if they only new how many times she has seen Little Mermaid, Little Mermaid II, Little Mermaid: Ariels' Beginning they would know why she knows every song.
